A Holiday Gift Guide for HER – With a Texas Twist
Let me first start by saying that the inspiration for this post came about because our extended family has chosen to draw names for a holiday gift exchange again this year and I was having the hardest time deciding what to put on my Elfster wish list. What is it that I need? Nothing really. I am lucky enough to feel pretty content with what I have, and I think that’s probably the case with most moms out there. We’d rather spend the money on Christmas for the kids or fun holiday events we can do as a family. Or maybe we’d rather save it to take a vacation together in the spring. Or maybe it’s that your kids have already outgrown their brand-new school clothes and you’re not even halfway through the year (ahem). Point is, it’s hard to think of something we’d like to have for ourselves. So, in the course of my search for things to possibly put on my wish list, I gathered some pretty cool ideas for everyone else. Ha! It’s just the way it goes, right? So, without further ado, here is my 2017 Holiday Gift Guide for HER – With a Texas Twist: you guessed it, everything on this list is made or sold by local Texas growers, makers, distributors, and small shop owners! Woo-hoo!
Please note that all photos are courtesy of these awesome makers, distributors, and shops!
For the Foodie: Wood-burned wooden spoons from Blessing Falls, Austin; A bottle of exquisite Texas-grown olive oil from 1836: A Texas Olive Company, Asherton; Screen-printed flour sack tea towels from LoneStarLizzie, Austin
For the New Mom: Essential oils from your favorite local distributor or Lunamor Essentials, Boerne (think Peace & Calming, EN-R-GEE, and Brain Power); LipSense from your favorite local distributor or Christine Hooper, San Antonio (Don't worry...pick ANY shade. They can be exchanged and she'll just be thrilled to feel somewhat put together!); LuLaRoe leggings from your favorite local distributor or Amanda Burns, Boerne (Don't overthink this...pick a few fun prints that will be comfy for around the house. LuLaRoe's super simple sizing for leggings makes it oh-so-easy!)
So there you have it: something for everyone and all made or sold by independent distributors/small shops right here in Texas! Be sure to shop/place your orders in plenty of time to beat the holiday rush and kudos to you for choosing to shop local and support small business this holiday season! Also, be sure to let me know if you have any suggestions for a similar "Gifts for HIM" post, as I'm sure that will come next! 😊
