Looking for a Fun, Creative Ladies' Night Out in Boerne? Try This!
Are you a member of our Sowing Seeds Women’s Group yet? No? Well, then you’re really missing out! The group is a place for Hill Country women to meet other local women, network, make friends, and have a whole lot of fun while we do it. Through the group, we get to try a lot of fun, new things that we might otherwise have never known about…and we like to incorporate our group members’ small businesses into our activities whenever we can. Like this goat farm tour and soap making-class that we did together at Lorie Diller’s Eden’s Promise Goats Milk Soaps back in October. And the super fun paint & sip sign-making class that we did in November with Rusty Bucket Designs, which is what I’m here to tell you allll about today, of course!
Rusty Bucket Designs is owned and operated by Boerne resident Courtney Kerry, who also happens to be the face behind the lens at Courtney Kerry Photography. Courtney usually offers one or two sign-making classes per month at local businesses in Boerne and the surrounding area. Some are public and open to anyone, which are great events to attend if you want to escape by yourself for a bit or if you just have a friend or two you’d like to take with you. The other option is to schedule a private event with Courtney for a group of eight or more. There’s no extra charge for scheduling a private event and ticket prices range from $25-$45 per person, depending on the sign size that you choose (courtesy photos below).
Our group’s event was co-hosted by Gina Reese Rodriguez of Gina Marie’s Art Studio in downtown Boerne, who also happens to be a member of our Women’s Group. We met at Gina’s studio with snacks and drinks in-hand and got to work making our signs, with Courtney leading the way.
Courtney offered plenty of fun designs to choose from and tons of different paint colors (and even glitter!) so that we could really customize our signs to get them exactly how we wanted them. We were led, step-by-step, through the process and Courtney and Gina even helped touch up a few “oops” moments along the way. Courtney cuts all of her own vinyl stencils in her home studio, and boy, do they make for an easy project and beautiful results!
The whole evening was full of tasty food and drink, creativity, and amazing women and friends. We all had so much fun and we each left with something to help us remember it by…amazing, right? If you’d like to attend one of Courtney’s 2019 events or if you’d like to schedule a private event for you and your girls, you’ll find Rusty Bucket Designs on Facebook and Instagram. You can also contact Courtney through email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
And don’t forget to join our Women’s Group if you’d like to be part of our supportive Facebook community and partake in our exciting monthly adventures. Our December event is THIS WEEKEND and is a Christmas party and gift exchange at Salvador DOBBS, which is owned by group member and Boerne local, Veronica Brown. Also, in January, we’re holding a wine-tasting and mini-book-club event hosted by group member Misty Stout of Scout and Cellar wines. Sounds like a lot of fun, right? I hope to see you there!
