Christmas Light Fest "Goes West" at Boerne's Enchanted Springs Ranch - Win Tickets HERE!

Well, we’re officially five days into December and I’d say we’ve got a pretty great start on our Christmas season so far: the tree is up (and decorated, which is a real feat), we’ve got a few strings of lights around the back deck and a tree outside (enough to make the kiddos happy), and they’ve all got their new Christmas pajamas and ornaments…that’s being way ahead of the game for me, folks. Ha! As far as events go, two weekends ago we were able to go to our third Dickens on Main (which was amazing, as always) and this past weekend we made the short drive up the road to Enchanted Springs Ranch for the very first Old West Christmas Light Fest!

Enchanted Springs Ranch is a new location for Christmas Light Fest this year and I’d say they’ve found a pretty amazing new home, wouldn’t you? When you first pull in through the gate, you’ll be greeted by an attendant then you’ll take a short drive right through the lights…taking in the sparkling reflections on the pond as you go. And of course there’s the tunnel, which the kids just LOVED.

Once you’ve parked and walked through the smaller tunnel of lights, you come upon Sheriff Jack’s Jail. Here you can pick up a scavenger hunt card to help you locate Santa’s Holly Jolly Herd of Longhorns as you move throughout the ranch. This is really a brilliant idea, as it’s the best way to ensure that you make your way to all the buildings and see all that there is to see in this amazing Old West town. Once you’ve found all the “wanted” longhorns, bring your card back to Sheriff Jack and score yourself a tasty treat!

It seems no building, fence, tree, or longhorn was left untouched as the entire town is draped with literally MILLIONS of twinkling Christmas lights…casting a beautiful glow under the dark, cool night sky.

As you explore, you’ll encounter tons of fun activities like karaoke, s’mores roasting around a giant firepit, shopping at Mistletoe Market, the random game of checkers, a glowing-green hay maze, and classic Christmas movies on the big screen.

And let’s not forget about SANTA, located at the Six Gun Saloon where you can also grab yourself something hot to drink (or cold, if you prefer beer or wine), and sit a spell. The kids will keep themselves plenty busy with cookie decorating, ornament making, and face painting, I promise. They can also write letters to Santa and show them to the Big Guy himself, right then and there! Just don’t forget to drop a little something in the donation jars before you leave…the donations raised from all this FREE family fun go directly to local non-profit, Vault Fostering Community.

And you know that someone will inevitably start to get hungry and when someone gets hungry, they all get hungry, right? No problem at all..you’ll find refreshments and snacks scattered throughout the town. Be sure to stop for some fun photos as you explore!

Still craving a bit more to round out your night? Maybe a bit of fun of the heart-thumping variety? They’ve got that too, with a mechanical bull and bungee trampolines!

On your way out, be sure to write your Christmas wish on the giant chalkboard and turn in your completed scavenger hunt cards to Sheriff Jack for candy canes. Then take a picture under the walkway of lights and enjoy the giant light tunnel one more time as you exit the ranch.
