Don't Miss Vintage Market Days THIS WEEKEND (+5 MORE Things To Do in Comfort!)

If you enjoy vintage markets, antique shows, Junk Gypsy, Fixer Upper, Round Top, farmhouse-style decor, Texas Hill Country-style, or just shopping in general, you are going to LOVE today's post! This weekend is Vintage Market Days of Greater San Antonio, which is actually located in the quaint little town of Comfort, about 35 minutes from the north side of the big city and 15 minutes from Boerne.  If you’re not familiar with what Vintage Market Days is all about, I’ll give you this description from the website:

“Vintage Market Days is an upscale vintage-inspired market featuring original art, antiques, clothing, jewelry, handmade treasures, home décor, outdoor furnishings consumable yummies, seasonal plantings, and a little more. The market is a three-day event held several times a year in various communities. Each Vintage Market Days event is a unique opportunity for vendors to display their talents and passions in different venues.”

The kids and I ventured out to the market after school on Friday afternoon.  The drive from Boerne to Comfort is quick and easy, but one note: my GPS wanted me to drive just a tad past where the market was actually located, so just be on the lookout for the Vintage Market Days sign on the fence of the Agricultural Center.  Parking was plentiful, and the entrance was clearly marked.  Since we went on Friday, tickets were $10 for a full-weekend pass (kids 12 and under are free!) but if you go Saturday or Sunday, tickets are $5.

There were TONS of vendors on site selling a wide range of goods, including vintage repurposed/refinished furniture:

Farmhouse goodies and home décor:

Fun handmade odds and ends:

Clothing and accessories:

And even a mobile art gallery and boutique-in-a-bus!

And of course, there were food trucks and beverage bars (I certainly didn’t get photos of all of them.  There were three or four more that are not pictured):

One cool thing about this event is that it’s also a fundraiser benefitting the Boerne non-profit organization, “Angels All Around You”.  This group provides support and encouragement to military members, veterans, first responders, and their families.  They provide meeting space for support groups, care packages to deployed service members, resources for wives of combat veterans battling PTSD, and gas cards to hometown heroes.  You can read all about the organization here!

Well, you’ve made the drive out to Comfort already so what is there to do after you’ve had your fill of shopping at the market?

Enjoy a fantastic down-home, comfort food lunch at High’s Café & Store (until 4:00)

Check out the Vintage Flea (and all of the amazing activities they’ve got going on with that!) at The 8th Street Market (The flea is Saturday only, until 5:00 but The 8th Street Market is open Sunday until 5:00 as well).  And don't forget to grab a "Peace Love & Comfort" selfie while you're there! (THESE IMAGES BELONG TO THE 8TH STREET MARKET!)

Stop for a quick pick-me-up and tasty treats at the Wander'n Calf Espresso Bar & Bakery (until 5:00)

Sample some of the Hill Country’s best wine and scenery at Bending Branch Winery (until 6:00)

Grab an amazing pizza pie for dinner at Comfort Pizza (until 8:30)

That makes for a full day, friends, so what are you waiting for?  You have today and tomorrow…and Comfort is your oyster.  Go check it out and be sure to let us know about all the fun you have exploring this little Hill Country gem!
