Gruene Hall Turns 140: Have You Added Texas' Oldest Dance Hall to Your Bucket List Yet?
Isn't it just sort of hard to believe that a dance hall could be nearly as old as the state of Texas itself? And that said dance hall has continuously been in operation ever since its creation, even through multiple wars, Prohibition, and the Great Depression?
What about the fact that the dance hall has launched the successful careers of singer-songwriters such as George Strait, Lyle Lovett, Jerry Jeff Walker, and Hall Ketchum? And still plays host to upcoming singer-songwriters to this day?
Gruene Hall, in all its glory, turns 140 years old this year. And I've reached out to ask a few questions about what's changed over the years, what makes the Hall so special, and how locals and tourists alike can best take part in the celebration. So head on over to my latest article at The Texas Wildflower to read all about it AND find details on everything else the tiny town of Gruene has to offer Texas road-trippers like yourself!
